Q:  Why Use cherished Memories?
R:  We ‘re the only national monument provider that partners with America’s leading florists—people you can trust to do things generally unavailable from other local providers.  And we have shaped our offerings to address the biggest challenges families face when memorializing their loved ones.

First, we make it simple.  We’ve brought the monument business into the 21st century by using Internet technology to make ordering a monument a simple process.

Second, we provide value-added services like communicating with the cemetery to find out its requirements and manage the installation of your monument.

Third, we provide the quality of industry-leading stone and bronze manufacturers and our  own production facility to create a living memory for your loved one.

Finally, we deliver significant cost savings as a result of our volume discounts—unlike locally-owned providers.

Q:  My funeral home/cemetery can provide a memorial for my loved one.  Why should I choose Cherished Memories?
R:   Choose Cherished Memories and you will have no stress, you’ll be able to decide on the memorial in the privacy of your home, and you’ll receive great quality and pricing.

Your florist has provided you with a memorial company that offers convenience, affordability and award-winning quality and craftsmanship.  We are different from a funeral home and/or cemetery by providing you value added services at no additional cost, such as working with your cemetery and arranging installation so that you don’t have to worry about the details.  Since we are a national company, we have the ability to offer stones and bronze materials, as well as design and shipping, at significant discounts over locally-owned funeral homes and cemeteries.  Beyond that, the mission of every employee at Cherished Memories—from our memorial specialists to designers to shippers and installers—is to help our clients establish memories that last a lifetime.

Q:  How does this work?
R:  At Cherished Memories, we provide more than just a monument.  Our goal is to provide additional value in this most important purchase by providing convenience, affordability, and quality craftsmanship.  First, we contact the cemetery on your behalf and obtain any rules and required forms.  Then we contact you to go over the design.  We create the design and submit a proof for your approval.  Once it’s approved, we produce the monument, ship it and install it at the cemetery.

Q:  How do I get started?
R: It’s easy.  Just call Cherished Memories at 1-800-224-7175 and speak to one of our counselors about your needs, timeline and budget.  We’ll make sure you understand all your options, and then call your cemetery to obtain any information we might need.

Q:  Do you provide other products that complement the memorial?

DESIGN:

Q:  I’ve seen the designs on your website, www.cherishedmem.com.  Can you provide other designs that are not shown on the website?
R:  Yes, these are just a sample of the most popular designs of memorials.  But we can provide you with a choice of other classic designs to view or work with you to create something more unique that reflects the individual’s life.  Our designers are artisans who bring great talent and dedication to ensure you receive a memorial befitting your loved one.

Q:  Do the colors of the stone mean anything significant?
R:  There are four basic colors (with some variations) used throughout the United States:
gray, red, black,  and a pink (we call it Dawn Rose).

The colors reflect only regional and personal preferences.  Gray is by far the most popular as well as the least expensive.

Some cemeteries allow only gray and that is another reason for its wide distribution.

Black is growing in popularity as it is the only color that really highlights the new laser etching technology for engraving.

Q:  How can Cherished Memories help my family personalize our memorials?
R:  Cherished Memories offers a variety of techniques to personalize your monument, some or all of which may uniquely meet your family’s needs.

Perpetual Flowers.  Through your CM florist, you can arrange to have flowers of your choice delivered to the gravesite of your loved one on a regular schedule, which may include holidays like Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Christmas, or personal dates, like birthdays and anniversaries.  Your CM florist can assist with all perpetual flowers.

Laser-Etching of Images or Photographs.   Using a technology developed around 25 years ago,  with laser etching you can not only have very delicate images engraved on your monument, but you can also engrave photographs of your loved one on their monuments.  The technology is warranted to last as long as the stone, and is a beautiful way to make the monument a truly personal testimony.

Cameo Photographs.  Cameo technology allows families to capture full color photographs of their loved ones to be inserted onto the monument or headstone.  Cherished Memories counselors can work with you to tailor any image of your choice for each monument design.

Personal Messages or Quotations.  The most traditional way to personalize a monument is to personalize the message on the stone.  Many families ask for suggestions of messages that are most typical, and our counselors are happy to provide information on these and the most popular designs.

Q:  Can you engrave in other languages besides English?
R:  Yes.  In fact, Cherished Memories is unusual in that we can engrave in most languages, even those requiring special type including Hebrew, Russian, Chinese, and most Asian languages.  While we can engrave in most any font—we recommend the 8 to 10 time-tested fonts that are best for readability and durability.

Q:  I want to purchase a double memorial, but only one person is deceased.  How do you handle this?
R:  It’s very simple.  We provide a memorial designed for two sets of engravings, including the name, birth and death date of the deceased and the name and birth date of the other person (though this isn’t a requirement).  At the appropriate time, we assist you with having the other side engraved to reflect the death date of the second person.  Or, you may handle this part of the process directly with the cemetery or a local engraving company.

INSTALLATION:

Q:  Do you install monuments?
R:  Yes, we can install the monument for you.  We work with memorial installation companies throughout the United States.  Our value added service to you is to handle this part of the process at no additional cost.  We simply include the installer’s fees and make no additional revenue for handling this.  Or, as an alternative, we can help you find an experienced installation company near the cemetery.  In either situation, we communicate with the cemetery on your behalf.

Q:  Do you guarantee installation?
R: Yes, when we handle the installation for you. You also have the option of working directly with your own installation company—in which case Cherished Memories would not guarantee installation.

SHIPPING:

Q:  How is shipping handled in your price?
R:    Because of the various weight and sizing of our memorials, we obtain competitive shipping quotes and bill you only the amount of actual shipping—we make no additional revenue on shipping and will provide actual shipper's invoice upon request. And since we publish all of our pricing on our website (except the Innovative designs—which are customized to your unique requests), you know exactly what you are paying for: the monument and the shipping (and the installation if we handle that for you). Shipping fees are small compared to the significant savings we offer on our memorials.

Q:  Since you add the cost of the shipping, how can Cherished Memories still provide memorials at huge savings?
R: Other memorial companies may state that they “include shipping,” but mark their pricing up to cover shipping. Cherished Memories is a national company with strong relationships with quarries, foundries, and shipping vendors. We receive less expensive pricing, due to volume discounting, than locally-owned providers—and we pass those savings onto you, the consumer.

Q:  Do you offer a warranty?
R:  Cherished Memories guarantees your memorial will be free of defects upon receipt. If the memorial is damaged during shipping, we will replace it at no additional cost. Our perpetual warranty guarantees your granite memorial against cracks, breakage, or disintegration—forever. (Warranty is not valid when damage to the monument is a result of acts of vandalism, theft, environmental or atmospheric conditions, acts of God, war or the act or omission of any party including the purchaser.)
